Two independent labels. One shared intention.

Index and Atelier E.B come from different places, but meet at the same point:
a commitment to craftsmanship, experimentation, and making quality products with care and attention to detail.

Atelier E.B — the collaborative practice of designer Beca Lipscombe and artist Lucy McKenzie — has spent years exploring the relationship between art, fashion, production, and display. Their work moves fluidly between disciplines, always grounded in research, craft, and independent thinking.

Index® approaches clothing from the perspective of the factory. Rooted in technical design and Portuguese production expertise, index® focuses on building high-quality garments through considered development and timeless design.

This collaboration brings these two perspectives together.

Two patterns, revisited

Paisley

Drawn from the Paisley Museum archive in Scotland, this motif is reworked through Index production. Recoloured and garment-dyed on organic cotton jersey, it takes on a softer, naturally worn character.

Tartan

Originally explored in Beca Lipscombe’s early work, this tartan returns through a contemporary process. Digitally printed and overdyed by Index on organic cotton jersey, it gains a subtle, sun-faded depth.

The Boxy Longsleeve Dress

A long sleeve dress with a clean, boxy shape. Relaxed in structure, allowing the garment to fall with ease and natural movement.

The Neck Piece

A compact neckpiece that slips easily into everyday layering. Quietly functional, yet precise enough to add a considered detail.

The Cropped T-shirt in Bark Tartan

Cacoa Paisley Lounge Pants

Relaxed trousers in the Cacoa Paisley motif. Easy structure, soft movement, effortless presence.
